I've been running Wordpress self hosted for well over a year - ou won't regret it. Ditch Akismet and install Spam Karma2 - NOW. That is something you will not regret! And if you have any question,s ping me - I'd be glad to help. Self-hosted is really the only way to go with Wordpress!
